3 Easy Tips to Dressing Down Pencil Skirts
Skirts in the spring and summer are my favorite thing. When the weather is warm you will always find me in a skirt or a dress. I feel like they are the coolest for the hot Utah weather, and to be honest, I haven’t found very many pair of shorts that are modest enough for my liking and flattering. If you find a pair that are please let me know! I have been a skirt and dress girl since I was married 5 years ago. They are both so much easier than shorts to find and I love that I can wear them to church on Sundays too so it is a win-win in my book.

Pencil skirts are so easy to wear through the spring and summer. It is just all about making them casual enough. You can wear just about any pencil skirt as long as it isn’t too dressy with a peplum to it or something like that. You can even dress a cute lace pencil skirt down too if you are willing to get that daring. It will seem a little bit different to you to wear it out and about if it isn’t something that you regularly do, but I promise you don’t look silly! Trust me on that one and if you are worried about it you can send me a picture and I will tell you honestly or help you figure out what works with the skirt you are wanting to wear.
3 Easy Tips for Dressing Down your Skirts
1. Pair it with a basic tee! Basic tees are so simple to put with a skirt and quickly and effortlessly dress it down. Either tuck it completely into the skirt like I am wearing here, or you can half tuck it.
2. Tie something around your waist whether it be a denim jacket, flannel shirt, or even your favorite classic white button up it gives your look more texture and gives it a cool and causal vibe.
3. Wear sneakers! Sneakers are the easiest way to dress something down. I wear sneakers with everything through the spring and summer. Not only are they super functional, but they also look perfectly casual paired with my favorite skirt or dress.
Wearing skirts through the summer not only is more comfortable to me than shorts, but it also look so put together when really there is no effort in grabbing a basic tee, skirt, and sneakers! Try it with some skirts in your closet!
