3 TIPS TO EXTENSIONS.
Hi babes!! Happy Monday! I hope that you have had a great start to the week. I am so excited to chat with you all about hair! We all know that I have extensions and that I am super open about them. I get a ton of questions about them and what products I recommend for them. I have tape in extensions currently that are beaded in with the Meraki technique (there is a picture of them if you scroll down a little bit). I generally keep my extension hair for a year (which most stylists don’t recommend, but I would rather keep it longer, take super good care of it, and save some money). The key to being able to keep your extension hair for longer, making them look natural, and keeping them healthy is all in the way you take care of them. So, let’s get started!
Tip number 1 – Be careful when brushing your hair. Make sure that you are being gentle and not pulling on the roots of your hair where your extensions are sitting. This will cause them to loosen and you will have to have them adjusted sooner. They can get tangled easily if you aren’t careful. If they get tangled, hold your hair toward the roots in sections and brush the ends gently. This will help to keep the tugging only at your roots. Simple, yet super effective!
Tip number 2 – Be smart about what products you are using. My stylist recommended luxury products to me, but I have been using the Suave Coconut Milk Infusion and I love it because Suave has their WAWA promise which is “works as well as” luxury promise. I am here to say that I completely believe that promise! The Coconut Oil Infusion Damage Repair Shampoo and conditioner is infused with pure coconut oil. I am obsessed with coconut oil because it is a natural moisturizer and it is so light weight on my hair so it doesn’t weigh it down. It is so important to keep your extensions moisturized. Where they aren’t really in your hair, they don’t get the natural oils that your hair produces on them to help keep them moisturized. The 3-step system visibly repairs two years worth of damage for beautiful, luscious locks. It repairs damage in just three uses! I love using the Damage Repair Oil Treatment because it smooths all my flyaways, gives me the shine I am constantly striving for, and delivers healthy hair. This has been a game changer for my natural hair that is always dry and keeping my extensions nice and moisturized all while being so affordable and able to snag at Walmart.
Tip number 3 – Make sure you are going to a good stylist. Go to one that knows what they are doing and is experienced. I am so grateful for my stylist Michele. She helps to keep my natural hair and extension hair in top notch condition all while making them look so natural and beautiful. Your stylist makes the biggest difference babes, it isn’t worth settling or going to someone that you are unsure about.
Whether you have extensions or not, you need to snag some of this amazing Suave Coconut Oil Infusion shampoo, conditioner, and oil treatment.
