5 AT HOME HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES WITH TODDLERS.
The holidays are here full speed ahead. I always want to do fun activities with King man, but I always have a hard time coming up with things that we can do together. I always assume that he is bigger than he is, come up with some crazy craft activity, and then am frustrated when it doesn’t work out how I had envisioned in my mind. I have had to really re-think the activities that I plan because, why do something if we aren’t having fun and we are frustrated?
I thought I would share some fun ideas that we have done together as a family already this holiday season.

Making Gingerbread man cookies!! I have heard that gingerbread cookies are hard to make. I snagged this kit from Foodstirs and it made it so fun. I had never tried their kits before and I am obsessed. We will definitely be ordering again. It comes with the mix, cookie cutters, frosting mix, all the treats to decorate, the piping bag, frosting tip, literally almost everything that you need to make them. It made the process not stressful and so fun to do with King man. He may have ate more of the treats than he put on his cookies, but I didn’t expect anything less.

Wrapping presents! This one I had to learn to let go of my controlling personality and let King go for it. It was so fun to wrap things together and King had quite the time to unwrap things for us to rewrap them ha. There was crinkled wrapping paper, tape everywhere, and constantly hiding scissors from this little stinker. We all ended up giggling and laughing so it made for the perfect time. It was something that I will always remember and that I am going to make sure that we do every year from here on out.

You know we love making treats. It has been the best thing that we have done as a family. Make sure to go to the recipe for our Rice Krispies Stockings & my M&M’s® Chocolate Peppermint Cookies. They are both kid friendly recipes that you and your family will love. You can take them to family members, neighbors, or to the local fire station. We try to make one fun treat a week over here to keep us laughing, snacking, and serving others.

Christmas jammies! This is something that we have done since I was little and was so fun that I wanted to make sure it was something that I passed down to King and that we do as a family. I love finding us Christmas jammies for each of us, having dance parties in them, thinking about Christmas morning, and playing on the bed. It is something that we will continue even when I am old and grey because I love it so much.

This is probably one of the most simple activities that you can do with your littles. Snag a coloring book, some crayons, turn some Christmas music on and go to town! It was so fun to not only color for a minute, but to dance and sing to Christmas music and have no cares in the world. Little ones don’t need anything big, they just need something out of the ordinary. Sometimes the simple things are the easiest things to do with your littles and the things that you remember the most.
