5 Simple Ways We Stay Organized in Our Home
One question that I have been getting a lot lately is how we stay organized in our home and some tips and tricks that can make your mornings/days run a little bit smoother. We don’t do anything crazy at our house but these are some things that make a world of difference in how our household is ran and how happy everyone is.
1 – Prepare Your Kids Outfits A Week At A Time
This is something new that we have been doing and it has been amazing. Every Sunday I go through King’s clothes and set out 7 outfits. Then I put the pants, shirt, and undies on one hanger. This gives him independence in picking out his outfit but also only gives him choices that I approve of and match ha.
2 – Package Snacks Up in Smaller Baggies
Every time we go to Costco I plan on taking time to package up snacks into snack baggies. This makes it super simple when someone in my house needs a snack they can just grab a pre-portioned little baggie out especially when we are in a rush or running out the door.
3 – Pack Your Bags The Night Before – Diaper Bag – Backpacks – Etc.
This is something that I make sure that I do every single night no matter how tired I am because it makes such a huge difference in our mornings. I check my diaper bag every night and restock it, pack King’s backpack, etc. It makes it so if we are running late in the morning that things are already packed and ready to grab and go.
4 – Meal Plan
I struggle with dinner time, it is so hard for me. Meal planning on Sundays has made a world of difference. I sit down, look at our schedule and plan out all of our dinners. Then I just have to cook what I’m “told” by my little meal magnet in my kitchen rather than thinking about it or making that decision at night when my poor littles are tired and have had it for the day. I also order all my groceries when I meal plan so I know our fridge and pantry will be stocked for the week and I will have everything for all the meals that I have planned out.
5 – Google Calendar
Zach and I both use Google Calendar and love it. I love that I can send Calendar invites to him or anyone in my family so we are all on the same page. Zach has his set to give him a reminder an hour or so before the calendar event and I have mine set to remind me 30 minutes before. I use Google Calendar to plan out my blog content, my Instagram posts, my life, etc. It is the best because my calendar is always with me no matter where I am because I can access it with the internet.
