A NEW PERSPECTIVE…
Oh boy, it’s the start of work for me again today. The start of waking up at 5:45 AM in the morning again. I definitely am not a morning person… Let’s just say these first couple weeks are going to be rough so bare with me ha. I am a nurse for my darling disabled brother. His name is Matt. He has some very serious medical problems of which include; continuously on life support, down syndrome, quadriplegic (which means he is wheel chair bound). I am so blessed to be hired through the school district to take him to school. Matt has to have someone with him 24/7 due to being on life support. Let’s just say I have the best job ever! He is the light of my world. Matt is the happiest boy I have ever met in my entire life when he has so much to be sad or angry about. I have never once heard him complain or say he is in pain. He always just says “Nah, I’m tough.” I am so blessed to be able to take him to school everyday and to learn from him and have a better perspective on life. Throughout the school year you will hear some stories about how amazing the kids at school are to him or how inconsiderate, the funny or embarrassing things he says at school (he has no filter at all!), and his rough times. I not only want to share them with you, but I want to remember them, and be able to look back to them.
One day this week or next week I will do a post about how all of Matt’s medical issues came about and the story of his life so you can understand a little bit more about him. Trust me, you will fall in love with him just like I have. His cute stories will change your life, make you look at things differently, and put a smile on your face! The whole morning thing doesn’t matter to me (most days) because I get to go spend my days with him (and get paid! Wahoo!). Make sure to follow me on Instagram (@lovemedanimarie). He loves to take pictures at school and sluff class and go upload them outside where I get service.
Okay, now to the outfit! Do you girls love to change up the look of a typical pencil skirt? You know me and my love for pencil skirts. I wear them so often that I am always looking for new ways to spice them. This was a fun rocker/glam look that I did to this fun polka dot skirt! I wore this fun metallic black tee from Forever 21 to give it a more glam look, and this fun studded vest from Sugar Love Boutique to give it a little bit of a rocker edge. It is such a fun twist on the regular pencil skirt. What’s your favorite way to change the look of your pencil skirts?
an amazingly affordable price!!

That is great that he has you to help him. I worry for my nonverbal son with Autism when he goes to school. Although, after meeting & talking to his new teacher & she told me she knows what I live with on a daily basis bc her son is also Autistic. I always for they won’t have a patience with him & be mean to him.

That skirt looks amazing on you! But on a much deeper note, you have no idea how much I love this post. That is so awesome that you get to take him to school each morning. He is such a special person and I can see how his spirit shines through in the pictures you post. As you know, both my brothers are in wheelchairs and very handicapped. So I always love reading about others in similar conditions. They are the best people I know. Whenever I have a bad day I just think of how positive these special guys are and how positive they stay. They are true gifts from heaven above. I can’t wait to read more about your brother, he seems like such a cool dude! ๐
