I can’t believe we’re already halfway through August!. While I am going to miss summer, the hot sunshine on my skin, the little chubby baby thighs hanging out of shorts and popsicles, I am so excited for everything back-to-school. We live in townhomes currently and have the cutest little neighborhood kids. I wanted to put together something for them, especially the cute little girl who lives across from us who is starting school in a couple weeks.
I came up with back-to-school kits, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something like a backpack, but needed something that would hold all the supplies and look nice in the process.. I ended up choosing to put scissors, a marker and a notebook in the kits.
I started thinking of something that would hold up in their backpacks, and decided on Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs! I headed to my local Kroger store, which happens to be a Smith’s Marketplace, and grabbed the sandwich, quart and gallon sizes. I loved that they now have the Easy Open Tabs , making them easy to grip and easy to open for kids.
SUPPLIES:
Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs (you can choose which size you would like to use)
Scissors
Markers
Notebooks
**You can also use crayons, pencils, snacks, etc.! How cute would some crackers be in a snack bag in there?
First, I wrote each of the kids’ names on the Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs, which I loved. I appreciated that it was simple and easy for me rather than making tags or cards for each of them. Next, I placed the items in the bags, sealed them shut and delivered them. They were so quick and easy and the moms loved that it contained items the kids actually needed, not trinkets that would just get thrown away later.

I did the quart size Ziploc® brand Storage bags with Easy Open Tabs for the smaller kids and the gallon size Ziploc® brand Storage bags with Easy Open Tabs for the older kids. I loved that the quart size Ziploc® brand Storage bag with Easy Open Tabs fit smaller notebooks and the gallon size Ziploc® brand Storage bag with Easy Open Tabs fit full sized notebooks.
When I was finished, I organized all the additional supplies I had in various Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs. I have a few nieces and nephews that I want to send kits to in the mail. Their school starts later than ours so I will send them a week or two before they go back.
In addition to back to school, I want to share with you my very favorite way to use Ziploc® brand bags with Easy Open Tabs…in my diaper bag! I love that they seal close and don’t leak or make a mess all over my diaper bag. I put King’s medicine in them, too, so it doesn’t spill all over if it happens to leak.
