Being a Mom & The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift.

   
As Mother’s day approaches I find myself sitting and thinking about being a mom and what I want King to remember about me as his mom. We had a long wait to get King here and every day I am so thankful for him in our family. I am thankful for how hard being a mom is to push me to be better, more patient, and the person I am supposed to become. Being a mom is the best calling that I could have ever asked for. I get to love and take care of this little boy all day, I get to be his person forever and always, the one he cries to, shares his successes and triumphs with, and give him unconditional love.

As our home is getting closer to being done, the place where I get to raise this little boy, his future siblings, and make memories with my little family I can’t help but think about the feelings I want in my home, the love I want felt there, and the memories that will be remembered always. I sit and think about my childhood and the things that I remember and love about my mom and my home that I grew up lived. I remember the smell of hot rolls coming out of the oven, the scent of fresh cut grass in the backyard, the smell of alcohol from endless hand sanitizer from when Matt came home from the hospital. Scents are a huge part of my memory and often times what trigger my memory to remember those special moments from my childhood all the way until today. 

The Sweet Grace Collection are absolutely stunning and the smell of them is absolutely divine. 

While I am not at the stage of life right now to have fresh baked rolls coming out of my oven, fresh grass cut in my backyard or so many other things, I can still have scents in my home to trigger those memories with my kids. Having a home that has a certain few scents to it is something so important to me. Home is somewhere where you can walk in and have a feeling of love and know it is where you are supposed to be. I want my family to be able to walk through the door and have that feeling and scent of being home. That they are at the place where the feel unconditional love, cherished, and valued. Being a mom this is one of my goals to provide for my family, to have them have a scent that recalls memories, the feeling of love, and the feeling of value. 

When I am thinking of gifts for my loved ones for Mother’s Day, scents are what come to my mind. Giving them something that while the candle burns they can create memories with their family, loved ones, friends, etc. and then when they smell that scent again in a few days, weeks, months, or years it recalls those memories to them.
