Best Paint Colors for Painting Your Home1
We are finally getting all settled in our new home and we are absolutely love it. It has been amazing living in our own space, having all of our things back, and getting back into our routine. This is probably going to sound silly but some mornings I wake up and have tears in my eyes so grateful that we live here and we have somewhere for our little family to grow, make memories, and everything else.
I think that the biggest question that I have received about our home is PAINT. I’ll be completely honest I had all the same questions as all of you. White paint you would think is easy to pick out, but there are so many different shades of white that they all start to blend together when looking at them and look the same. I am so excited to share with you the best paint colors we chose: what we picked for our house, why we picked it, and how we are loving it.
We went with Sherwin Williams for our paint and have never looked back, they definitely have some of the best paint colors for your home. First I want to talk about the color of our paint and then we will go through and chat about what type of paint and the sheens of the paint that we went with.
We picked Snowbound for our paint color. I love that it is a crisp and clean white. I didn’t want our house to look grey and I knew in choosing Snowbound that it wouldn’t. It does have a slight grey undertone to it, but it does not look grey at all in our home. I truly don’t regret our paint color for two seconds we love it so much.
Let’s talk about paint sheen. We did a semi-gloss on our walls and trim which isn’t normal. The reason that we did that is so that our walls will wipe down easier with them being white. I will also say that I thought our walls would look dirty all the time and they don’t. They hide the dirt really well and wipe down so easily! We are obsessed. Our ceilings are flat sheen.
The type of paint we did for our trim is the Builders Select and then for our walls we did the Duration Home. The Duration Home we picked for our walls because of the ability that it has to be wiped down so easily. The girl at the store said that it is her favorite paint they have because it holds up so well and that is just what we need with having a toddler at home.
I hope this helps you pick out the best paint colors for your house! If you have any other questions or anything feel free to DM me or email me! XX
