Do you remember being a little kid at Halloween time, so excited to hear the doorbell ring and there be a treat sitting on your porch, but no one to be found? However, there was a note with the treat that told you to put the sign up in your own window, put together a treat, and go BOO someone else? I think it was always one of my favorite parts of Halloween time. I loved people doing small acts of kindness without being recognized and “paying it forward” to someone else in your neighborhood. I wanted to start a tradition with my family for Halloween time to start BOO’ing people and to spread the love a little bit more. We put together these fun Halloween BOO Baskets for a couple of our neighbors (Shh! Don’t tell them!) I was really happy with how they turned out so I wanted to share how easy they were with you!
SUPPLIES: (You can find a coupon for the cute little cans here!)
7UP®
Sunkist®
A&W
Any Treats you would like (my favorites are always M&M’s®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, SKITTLES®, & STARBURST®)
Trinkets from the Dollar Store
A plate, basket, or something to put all of your goodies on/in.
BOO Printable
DIRECTIONS:
Alternate the 7UP® and Sunkist® around the plate or basket to make a “wall”. Next, fill the inside of the “wall” with candy. Then you will add the trinkets to fill in the gaps and to add some dimension to the basket. I put the cups in the back for height and put candy in them to give the basket a little something extra. After you have it how you want it, place cellophane under it and pull the edges to the top. Tie with your favorite ribbon. Lastly you will print your BOO papers to give with the basket for them to hang up in their window. You will fold the card and cut out the printable that goes in their window. (You can find those here) Easy peasy right?
We were so excited that we already delivered ours to our neighbors. I just wish I could have watched their faces light up when they opened the door to find a special surprise unexpectedly on their porch! How fun! We printed the door sign, and attached it with a paper clip to a little note that we wrote that said “It’s UP to you to pass this along to someone who needs a little Halloween love. Spread More & More Halloween Spirit to a couple people or families who would be TWIX®’ed with excitement for a little surprise! KIST, KIST! Your secret Halloween Friend.”
You can find all the treats at Walmart and make sure you check out the Social Hub for more fun BOO ideas! XO
