Baby K is going to be here in only 5 weeks! I can not believe it! I swear time is going faster and faster the closer it gets! (I do know I will take that back in a couple weeks and tell you time is moving so slow). I have started to clean my house, and when I say clean, I mean deep down clean it. Everything from baseboards to fans and cabinets! I knew this would be a process so that is why I started early and let’s just say that nesting has really set in!
I am not one to get excited to clean… I mean who really likes the process of it? I love the smell and the feeling after, but the whole process is just not very fun in my eyes. Zach and I talked about what would motivate me to clean, and we decided to go get ourselves a new vacuum before the baby comes. I mean all our little pennies will go to Baby K when he is here so we decided it was the perfect time to go grab a new one. We researched the best vacuum for our buck and finally decided on the new Eureka Suction Seal Vacuum. What really made us decide on this vacuum is that it had amazing reviews and that it is currently on Rollback at Walmart for only $129.
We got home and Zach had this baby put together in literally 10 minutes tops. It was so easy to put together that even I could do it. I was so excited to try it out that I started to clean immediately! I started in the kitchen first. I was nervous on how this would vacuum up on our tile floor which is travertine and has lots of bumps and crevices in it. Seriously there was not a speck of dirt or food left on there after I was done!
After I vacuumed the tile floor I pulled out the attachment hose and did under the cabinets where the tiny corners are that can never be reached. I then vacuumed off the tops of cabinets appliances. I was amazed at how fast I had everything in the kitchen vacuumed including the baseboards!
Next came our bedroom… First I wiped down all the walls. Man you never realize how dusty your walls are until you start wiping! I was disgusted! Next, dusted all of our furniture and then vacuumed the carpets, baseboards and the fan/light fixtures. Baby K will be sleeping in our room in a bassinet until he is a little bit bigger so I wanted to make sure that it was sparkly clean for him in there. And can I just say I want to know how so much dust can accumulate on top of your fan and light!? GROSS!
I went through all the bedrooms and cleaned them all out. Then I headed into all the bathrooms and vacuumed out bathtubs, (our guest bathroom which will be Baby K’s doesn’t get used much so it has dust in the tub… gross…) baseboards, tile floors. I wiped down all the walls, sinks, toilets, floors, cabinets, everything. Next on my list is to wipe down all the walls in all the other rooms, clean carpets, etc.
I know, I may be going overboard… BUT in my defense, I will have a super clean house when Baby K comes! I made this printable to keep me organized while I have been cleaning for the last couple weeks and thought I would share it with you. Pregnancy brain has hit full force and this list keeps me in line and on track!
Good luck cleaning for baby!! It feels so good to have so much done and I must say I love having a clean house!
