You guys, I can’t believe that it is already Halloween time and that it will be my baby’s first Halloween! I have had so much fun coming up with a costume for him. I had so many different ideas, but we finally settled on being Captain America! Something that is quick and easy for me to put together and won’t cause a lot of stress on Halloween itself. I wanted to make part of his costume so I found this perfect tee and was so excited to make the Captain America Helmet/Hat. I am so happy with how it turned out and it will keep him warm if it is a cooler night on Halloween. This hat is so quick, no sew, and easy! You won’t believe how quick it will come together. I think it took me maybe 10 minutes to put it all together and have it over his sweet little helmet.
SUPPLIES:
Blue Hat
Stiff Felt
Sharpie
Fabric Glue
First, you will draw your wings and the letter A on to the thick felt. I free handed mine, it was really pretty simple. I pulled up an image of Captain America on my phone and used it as a reference. You also could make them on the computer, cut them out, and trace them if you feel better about that.
Next, cut out the letter A and the wings. I drew one wing and then folded my felt over so that way they would be exactly the same. Make sure that if you decide to fold it in half you have really sharp scissors to cut through both layers. If you scissors are sharp it won’t be a problem at all.
Lay the A and the wings where you would like them on the hat. I ended up putting the hat on King and marking where I wanted them so that way I knew the wings would stand up how I wanted them.
Glue the wings and A on to the hat and let them dry. Easy right!?
You can make a shirt for them if you would like or you can buy one to make it easier on yourself and quicker if you are in a time pinch.
Could you die!? Look how stinking cute this turned out. I love that it was a simple way to make his costume his own and to put my own little touch on it with out dedicating a few days or weeks to making a costume.
We also are going to put him in our favorite Huggies Little Movers Diapers to keep him dry all of Halloween night and not worry about leaking. They have a 12 hour leak lock and are seriously our favorite diapers. My favorite part of them is how they are snug on him but let him crawl around and get everywhere. They recently even added a NEW Dry Touch that absorbs on contact so I don’t have to stress so much about changing him immediately every time he is wet. These diapers seriously save my sanity. I love that I can run into Babies “R” Us and snag everything for Halloween to make it less stressful for me. Seriously, it has saved my life in trying to plan ahead. Have you thought about Halloween costumes yet? They had the cutest princess costumes for little girls and superhero costumes for little boys at Babies “R” Us. Seriously people, if you don’t have time to make one (which is totally me usually) they have such a huge variety there, you will die! What has been your favorite Halloween costume? Do you make your own or do you snag yours at the store like I always have?

This is adorable! Two of my boys had to wear the head shape helmets. It felt like forever, but it was worth it in the end! #client
