Double French Braid Tie Back Hairstyle Tutorial with Bohyme
Today’s hairstyle tutorial is a twist on the basic dutch braid that looks a lot harder than it is. I love styles that look like they have a lot to them, but really they are pretty simple. This hairstyle is just two dutch french braids to the back, then held together with an elastic, and pulled a part to make them look like one big braid. Simple right? As always this hairstyle has a full step by step tutorial below and then under that is the video tutorial to make things a little easier to visualize.
I am wearing my Bohyme hair extensions here. You can see the tutorial of how I have them put in and how they work here. You could also do this style with your natural hair, or clip in &/or tape in extensions. I love wearing this hairstyle when my hair is getting dirty, but I am not quite ready to pull it all up yet. I am all about taking my hair as long as possible to not wash it ha. So, let’s get started!
Products You Will Need:
Clear Elastics
Brush – My favorite is the wet brush
Bobby Pins
Curling Iron – I love the BeachWaver
1 – Start on either side of your head and take about an inch section of hair. If you want to leave your bangs out, then take a section behind them, if you want your bangs braided back then go ahead and grab them in this section.
2 – Break that section into 3 sections and start a dutch french braid back. This is a french braid where your outside pieces go over the middle piece.
3 – Braid back toward your temple and when you hit the back of your ear finish off with a regular 3 strand braid.
4 – Tie off with an elastic.
5 – Pull the braid out gently to make it appear fuller than it is.
6 – Take a section the same as you did in step 1 but on the opposite side of your head.
7 – Repeat steps 2-4
8 – Pull both braids to the back of your head and secure at the bottom of the braids with an elastic. Gently pull out the 2 braids together to give them the look of being one braid.
9 – Your Finished!
