Finding Confidence & Love for Myself
I have shared a lot that I have struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety since having Lettie, but I haven’t shared how bad I struggled with self confidence. Self confidence is something that I have always struggled with and truly the reason that I started this little space on the internet. I am so excited to share my moment of strength with Stage Stores today as a part of their #IPinkICan campaign.
I started this space on the internet when I needed to learn to be confident in the person that I am and to learn to take it when people had mean things to say to me as silly as that sounds. I needed to be stronger, not so sensitive, and to love myself without others loving me. I decided the only way that I knew how to get myself to learn those things was to force myself into situations that gave me no other choice than to learn to be stronger and to love myself.
This space on the internet has changed me completely. I now know my own worth even when others don’t see it in me. I can take it when people say mean things to me (I still cry for a minute or have my feeling hurt but can move on instead of dwelling on it). I also love myself and know who I am more than ever before.
I still get uncomfortable when I don’t know anyone and still am anxious in talking to people because I don’t know what to ask or what to say, but I have made huge progress in the person that I am. If this space all went away today I would be okay (yes I still would be sad) with it because I have got more out of it in building the person that I am than I could have ever imagined.
After having Lettie I knew I needed to make changes to my daily life to make myself stronger. I started exercising every morning, meditating, and doing some personal study. I started sacrificing things like some sleep to be able to make sure that I was doing things that aren’t fun but make me a better person. These are things that long term truly take care of myself and make me all around better. They help me to have a life that I don’t need to escape from.
October is breast cancer awareness month and we as women are amazing. We have each overcome different things in our own lives that make us amazing people. Trials are so hard, but when you overcome them and look back at them it is amazing what we can do and the people that we can become. I 150% wish that breast cancer wasn’t a thing and that people didn’t have to suffer through it.
My outfit that has pink accents is all from an amazing store called Stage Stores. Stage stores give her the style and value she loves, for all the stages she’s on and all the stages she’s in. They are her Stage. Stage stores is amazing and has made the month of October Pink October. Through the month of October Stage stores will be helping raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in many ways including in-store & online activations. Guests to Stage stores will have the opportunity to help give back to BCRF throughout the month of October and they also can share their moments of strength and inspiration as women.
Women are amazing humans and I am so grateful to not only be a woman myself, but to have amazing women examples in my life that I can/have looked up to as examples of loving themselves, taking care of themselves, serving others, nurturing, etc. I hope that I can be an amazing example to my sweet little Lettie and help her become the woman that she dreams to be.
You can get involved at your local Stage Store where there are various events and opportunities to take part. They will have sales of select “Pink” items with 50% off the purchase price from the sales of these items going to BCRF. Online you will be able to share #ipinkican moments. Stage stores will donate $1.00 to support BCRF when you share using the hashtag on Facebook or Instagram. You can find more details at Stage.com/IPINKICAN.
