French Braid Half Up Bun | Hair Tutorial
I wore my hair this way a couple weeks ago when I needed to wash it more than anyone knows. It was pulled back and had so much dry shampoo in it. It was my way of “feeling put together” when underneath I was a total mess. I jumped on stories and was quickly picked back up from a bad morning by you. You messaged me the sweetest words. My soul needed you, I needed to lean on someone and you didn’t even know that it was you that I needed that day but you showed up.
You requested a tutorial on this hairstyle so here it is! I hope that you do it and love it as much as I do. More than anything though I am here for you if you need a pickup on a rough day, if you need to lean on me because you aren’t strong enough on your own that day. Always, ALWAYS feel free to message me!
French Braid Half Up Bun Tutorial

1 – Start by pulling your hair back from both temples.
2 – Starting about a half inch back start a dutch French braid. This is when you take the hair UNDER the middle piece instead of over like a traditional French braid.
3 – Keep French braiding until you reach where you want your bun to sit.
4 – Once you reach where you want your bun, keep holding the hair with one hand and with your other hand gently pancake your braid pulling the edges out to make it look fuller than it normally is.
5 – Secure with an elastic not pulling your hair all the way through the elastic before wrapping it around a second time. this will help to make the messy bun.
6 – Manipulate your bun until you get it where you want it. Secure it with bobby pins. Finish off with hairspray!
