Halloween Activities for Kids
October 1st… everyone is talking about it and I think it is for a good reason! We are obsessed with Halloween and Fall at our house. We love all the Halloween activities for kids that there are and are so grateful to live in a community that does so many fun different things. I wanted to share with you a few of our favorites so hopefully they can be added to your list and your favorite too! I think that my favorite part of fall/halloween is that the activities are so easy, they are outside, and I feel like so many of them are geared toward kids.
Halloween Books
Every year I love to give my kids each a new Halloween book for our collection and we pull them all out of our storage come October 1st to read through the month. We put them by our fireplace this year and it has quickly became on of our favorite things. We love to get our kids in pajamas at night and then all snuggle by the fire to read books before they go to bed. They look forward to the Halloween books and the change of pace when it comes to the books that we read at night
Pajamas
Holiday pajamas are one of my all time favorite things that I get my kids and I think that they are as obsessed with them as I am. I always buy them on Labor Day sales and then let them start wearing them so we can get as much wear out of them as possible. This year I snagged them at GAP and obsessed with the quality of them. Lettie’s pajamas have the cutest little girl dressed up as different things and I can’t even tell you how obsessed with them that I am. Pajamas are such an easy way to do something fun and out of the ordinary.
Pumpkin Hunting
Whether you go to the pumpkin patch, a little fruit stand, or even the grocery store I love watching my littles pick out the pumpkin that they think is the best. I let them pick out one to decorate and then another one to sit on our porch that is “theirs”. They each look for such different things in their pumpkins (let’s be honest, Lettie girl just grabs whatever ha) and it is so fun to watch the things that are important to them when looking for the perfect pumpkin.
Make Pumpkin Treats
This is something else that is one of our favorite things. Whether you make the 3 ingredient pumpkin chocolate chip cookies or you go full blown on something delicious and a little bit longer to make no matter what you make your littles will love stirring, putting them on the cookie sheets/pans, and then eating their creation when they are done. Whenever we make something yummy at our house we always deliver some to family or friends and have our littles write a card to them. They think it is the best thing ever to deliver a special treat that they made!
Watch Halloween Movies or Shows
We love Disney Halloween shows so we always get popcorn from the local movie theater and snuggle up to watch a movie during Halloween time. If your littles won’t sit through a movie (Lettie won’t and King still struggles to) you can watch a cute Halloween TV show like Curious George Halloween or there are a bunch of others that are darling as well!
I would love to know what your favorite Halloween time activities are to do with your family so we can add them to our list of favorites as well!
