#TheGiftOfClean #CollectiveBiasFather’s Day is quickly approaching. I can’t believe that it is already that time of year. I have such an amazing dad that I always want to get him something that fits who he is and his loves in his life. My sweet dad works so hard for our family. He stays up working all night and wakes up to continue working early in the morning.
I think the thing that I look up to most about my dad is how he acts with and treats Matt. (if you don’t know Matt’s story you can read it here). He gives Matt the most amazing quality of life. With my dad where there is a will, there is a way for him. he has spent many nights staying up working on Matt’s wheelchair, building things so Matt can get around, adapting things we already had to make them work for Matt. He has fixed wheelchair parts, ventilators, built spare batteries for the wheel chair, you name it he has done it. He makes sure that if there is the slightest way that Matt can be a part, that he is. He has figured out how Matt can swim, go on Ranger rides, ski, and so many other amazing things. He puts no limits on Matt’s life and has taught me that if you try your hardest and want to do something there is always a way.
One thing that my dad truly loves is cars. He treats his cars like they are his babies. He may or may not even have inferno orange clothes, bags, and hats to wear while he drives in his Camaro. I thought that the perfect thing that I could get him was a bucket full of things to take care of his car. I however wanted to dress it up a little bit, so I thought I would share the tutorial with you!
First off head to your local Walmart and snag the Armor All Car Care Gift Pack 10-Piece Bucket. This bucket is amazing and such a great price for all the pieces that it comes with inside. You can even snag a $2.00 coupon to get it for an even better deal while supplies last! You can grab your coupon here. My dad is a huge Armor All fan because it will preserve & protect the value of his car along with it’s appearance. Next, you will need the following:
Black & White Paper
A Square Punch or Paper Cutter
Glue Sticks
Yellow, Green, & Red Paper
Circle Punch
Skewers First, you will want to cut your white paper to the height that you will want it to stand up on your bucket. I cut mine to be 6 1/4. You will also want to punch out your squares to make the checker board.
Now you will glue on the black squares to make a checker board. I didn’t measure anything out, I just placed them so the corners are all touching.
I hot glued the checkerboard piece around the entire bucket. I found that hot glue worked the best and held the longest.
Now you will punch out 6 yellow circles, 4 red, & 4 green. I then spaced them out on the black paper where I wanted them and then cut the black paper into a rectangle. Glue it or tape it on to a skewer and that part is finished. Lastly I made a quick Happy Father’s Day sign on the computer, backed it on some paper and stuck it on a skewer. Easy Peasy right?!
My sweet dad was so excited for the bucket and can’t wait to wash his cars to keep them looking top notch!
Do you have your dad’s Father’s Day gift yet?
What a fun idea for Father’s Day! My Dad and I used to wash the car together every Sunday afternoon when I was a kid, and he always used Armor All. Thanks for sharing! #client
