KING – 1 MONTH UPDATE
I can not believe that my tiny little love is already 1 month old!! Where has time gone? I can’t believe how fast he has grown and I know it is cliche, but I wish I could stop time and just snuggle him like this all the time, but at the same time I can’t wait for him to smile, sit up, and everything else.

All signs of King’s jaundice are gone. Thank goodness! If you don’t know, he tested in the moderate range at the hospital when he was born so we needed to come back 2 days after discharge for a pediatrician visit. When they drew his blood there, his levels had gone up so we needed to go back the next day and have them redrawn. When they redrew his blood, his levels had stayed the same so they told us that they should go down from there and they did. We were so grateful that we didn’t have to do any treatment for him.

King loves his sleep, but he hates to fall asleep. Once he is asleep he will sleep for 5-7 hours before waking up in the night to eat. He usually eats around 9:30 PM and then wakes up around 3:30 or 4:00 AM for another bottle. We are pretty grateful that he sleeps this much!

I swear it’s like he knows that we are awake and don’t need to go to sleep. He will fall right asleep for his naps and sleep until we have to wake him up to eat again. Now, let’s get that switched to night time and we are set!

Man can this boy eat! He has been eating 4 oz of breast milk since 2.5 weeks! We have to take his bottle away and remind him to slow down while he is eating because he eats so fast. He gets mad at us when we burp him because he just wants to down his bottle.

Poor boy has some bad acid reflux. We hold him upright after he eats for around 30 minutes to an hour or he will projectile puke every where to the point we have to run to the sink because there is so much… It is the saddest thing. I called the doctor to see if she would give us some medicine for him, and she said she tries to avoid treating acid reflux… She told me that everything I am doing is right by elevating him, not letting him eat too fast, etc. I just feel so bad for him. Acid reflux is no fun for anyone!

King absolutely loves the bath! If he is upset we can take him up and bath him and he will calm right down. He would spend all day in there if he could. He loves the warm water and sometimes will even fall asleep in there.

He love to snuggle mom on her chest and watch football with dad. King loves his momma roo and will only sleep in there. He loves movement, like being bounced, rocked, etc. King loves to ride in the car and falls asleep the moment you hit the gas. He loves for dad to hold him in the air and bounce him up and down. He always has to be holding things whether it be his wabbanub, moms shirt, moms hand, a blanket, etc. If he can’t hold on to something he is very upset! King has the strongest little neck! He has been able to hold his head up since he was born and will lift it up and turn it wherever he wants during tummy time.
We love you sweet baby King, even when you are upset and it breaks our hearts! We love your little smiles before you have gas, the way you suckle and suck on mom or dads arm when you are starving. We love your dirty diapers, cleaning your bottles, all your laundry, because that means we have YOU!
