Kings Happy 1/2 Birthday & Why We Do 1/2 Birthdays
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Chuck E. Cheese's. The opinions and text are all mine.
As some of you may know Kings birthday is December 16th, just 9 days before Christmas. When we had him I swore that I would never combine the two holidays unless he wanted to when he is older and would make sure that he had his own special day to celebrate him. When he turned one we planned his first birthday party, it was around Christmas time because that is when his birthday is and I quickly realized that everyone had so much going on that time of year that it was a struggle to plan around everyone’s holiday parties to give King the special day he deserved. I chatted with Zach and we decided to do a summer birthday party for him instead and really give him a day to be celebrated that there wasn’t a million other things going on and to do cake and ice cream on his real birthday. This was the best decision that we have ever made. He gets things that he needs/wants for summer time instead of only winter toys for both his birthday and Christmas, he gets a day that is completely about him, and I am not trying to plan around a million peoples schedules and parties.
This year for his birthday he wanted to go to an arcade and play games. I wasn’t sure where to go so I started to research. After going through hours of research and not knowing what to do the stars aligned and Chuck E Cheese reached out to us to see if we wanted to work with them. I agreed, but was hesitant and said that I would only do it if I could 100% completely share my truthful opinion about the party and how it went. When I started researching their parties, there were a bunch of different party options that you could choose from that gave all the kids everything from play points to play games to unlimited games, pizza, cake & dip & dots, party favors, and so much more.
I’m going to be 100% honest with you. I was nervous walking into Chuck E Cheese that day, and holy cow was I pleasantly surprised. It was well lit with both artificial and natural light, cleaner than I could have imagined, and the pizza was even good! We walked in to have everything for his party all set up and ready and just had to wait for his friends and family to get there.
Each kid that came received a cup from Chuck E Cheese, 2 slices of pizza, unlimited games, a party favor bag, and were able to cash in their tickets for a prize at the end of the night. They also with the package we picked had their own cup of dip & dots and I ordered a cake from them that was super yummy too!
King felt a little nervous when Chuck E came out to meet everyone so I just chatted with darling Morgan their manager and she said that he didn’t have to come out for King’s birthday show like they generally do. She jumped right up, danced with the kids, and made King feel so special with making sure that he felt comfortable and doing whatever she could to help him feel that way.
King and the other kids had the time of their life that night playing games for two hours without running out of play points (our package had unlimited games). They loved winning tickets upon tickets and then picking whatever prize they wanted from the counter that fit in their ticket count.
Zach and I literally still bring up how impressed we were with Chuck E Cheese that day and how we would totally go back for another party in the future. My mom even asked how much it was to just buy games for the kids to go play on a different day and that is saying something if she was impressed!
If you are looking to do a birthday party for your littles I 150% recommend Chuck E Cheese. (You can book your party online here and get bonus play points!) I couldn’t have been more impressed with Morgan the manager at our store and even asked her if they told her that we were coming and she had no idea who we were so that really means they treat everyone amazing! I loved that I didn’t have to set up, clean up, plan anything and was able just to soak in the day and celebrate King man!
