Lettie’s Big Girl Room
When we found out we were having another baby (Rosie) I knew I didn’t want to buy another crib, rather just use the one that Lettie was currently in. After Rosie was born and it was getting close to her sleeping in her own crib instead of a bassinet I knew it was time to switch Lettie’s room to a big girl room. Her room was so fun to put together and something that I loved doing with her. I let her in on so many details of picking things and it is something that I will never forget.
All the little details in her room are my favorite from the blanket my mom made her hanging in the basket next to her bed to the print on the top of her dresser that she picked out from hundreds of different prints. Lettie’s room screams Lettie. Simplistic, simple, yet still a room of a girl. She has places for each of her dolls (notice the multiple doll beds), books galore, and even a spot for someone to sleep in her room with her (the trundle).
When it came to deciding what bed Lettie wanted I thought through a lot of things and ultimately came to a daybed with a trundle because of the layout of her room and that I think her and her siblings will love to have sleepovers together on the weekends. I narrowed down the choices of beds for her to three different options and then let her pick which bed and the color of it. We are in love with the bed that she picked and the trundle is used almost every single night. King & Lou love to have sleepovers (you should have seen them on Christmas Eve together) and we love to pull the trundle out and read books together at night as a family.

Bedding was something I thought long and hard about. I knew daybeds could be really tricky to make especially with a trundle. When we put King in a big bed a few years ago we did Beddy’s bedding for him and we have loved his bedding still 5 years later. Beddy’s have been game changing with Lettie’s room especially for the trundle. The thing that makes Beddy’s amazing is the fact that it has zippers on both sides and you just simply zip up the sides to make the bed. It all washes in the regular washing machine and can even go into the dryer. We have absolutely loved it and this being our second time having them for bedding should really prove that!
I wanted Lettie to have plenty of room to play in her bedroom and I think that her room came out perfectly. It is functional, simple, and perfect for her as a two year old but also to grow with her as she gets older.
