Mantel Inspiration for My New Home
We drove up to the new house today and we were so excited to see that carpet and countertops have been installed! I truly can’t believe that the inside of our house will be done the end of this week…it is so crazy to me. We are still waiting on the outside, brick started today so hopefully the outside will be done in the next couple weeks and we will move in the first of July. I have been so blessed to have such an amazing best friend and photographer Kelsie. She has opened up her home to us the past 10 months and let me shoot anything that needed a kitchen, bedroom, living room, kids room, etc. all in her home. It has been so amazing for me and I will never be able to thank her enough for being so kind and generous.
I have been ordering pieces for awhile for our new home to decorate. I am not a visual person so it has been a little tricky for me, but I just have to trust my gut that it is all going to match okay when we put it all together ha. The art for my mantel is one of my favorite things. I snagged it from Minted and love the way that it all came together. Sweet Kelsie let me stage it in her home a little while ago so I could see what it would look like all together and I am so grateful for her for letting me do that. I have to say that I am in love with it and can’t wait to see it on my own mantel in our house sooner than later!
Picking out furniture has been something else stressful to me just because like I said I am not a visual person. Everything from coffee tables to couches and seeing it all together in my mind just doesn’t happen. I have everything picked out finally and here so I can’t wait to put it all together in my living room with my mantel set up and hopefully see it all come together just as I envisioned.

My sweetest friend Savannah from Savvy Dru Shop surprised me one day with this beautiful hand painting of King and I. She laughed when she gave it to me and said that the picture was one of her favorites and I probably didn’t remember it because it was from awhile ago. Little did the sweet girl know that this is one of my all time favorite pictures that we have ever taken. I can remember this shot like it was yesterday, little King holding my hand without fighting me which never happens, him feeling like he was on top of the world in his little sunglasses, and seeing him in that tiny little suit just made my heart burst more than anyone will ever know. I am so grateful to Savannah for painting this for me, she has no idea how much love it holds and that it will be in a special place in our home!
