3 Maternity Style Staples You Need
I get asked all the time about maternity clothes and my thoughts on them, what staple pieces I recommend, and what is worth splurging on. I will be completely honest I am not a fan of buying maternity clothes… I hate buying them to only wear for a short time and then putting them in a box for a few years to hopefully have them be in style again when I am pregnant with my next baby. While I say that I hate to purchase them, I do think that there are a few pieces that are a must to buy and that you will wear over and over again. They are worth investing in and paying just a little bit more because they aren’t going to go out of style, they will hold up wearing them time and time again your entire pregnancy, and they are staple pieces that you can wear over and over again.

1 || A GOOD PAIR OF MATERNITY JEANS ||
A good pair of maternity jeans. Whether you are an under the bump or an over the bump maternity jeans girl I feel like investing in a couple good pari of jeans you feel good about yourself in is key. My favorite pairs right now are from ASOS and I didn’t pay over $50 for any of them. I bought 2 under the bump pair and 2 over the bump pair for when the under the bump ones start to get uncomfortable. I truly wear these every single day and have them to rotate through. They are worth getting a couple good pair and loving them.

2 || BASIC MATERNITY V NECK TEES ||
Basic tees are a total must. You can wear them under jackets and cardigans (that aren’t maternity) all spring, fall, and winter, and if it gets warm then you can wear them alone with some jeans and sneakers or tucked into a skirt. I live in my GAP V Neck Maternity tees. I don’t have very many of them, in fact some of them have holes in them from when I work them pregnant with King and I just keep wearing them. They fit on them is great, the neckline is perfect, and they have held up with me wearing them every day through King’s pregnancy and through this one with just a tiny hole on the bottom of them. They are worth buying a few of, layering them, and being able to wear them season to season.

3 || BODYCON DRESSES ||
Bodycon dresses are my favorite. I love that they can be dressed up to wear to church on Sunday or dressed down to wear with sneakers when the weather gets warmer. I don’t buy maternity bodycon dresses, however I do buy them with gathering at the side generally so they are more flattering. These also get you through every season with layering them differently and not buying too many pieces for your maternity wardrobe.
I hope this helps you to know what pieces are worth spending a little bit more on, buying in the maternity section, and pieces that will get you through multiple seasons! These are pieces that I truly love, wear on the daily, and keep me feeling okay about this quickly growing baby bump of mine!
