MATT-MAN'S 22ND BIRTHDAY!

I can not believe it! Matt is 22 years old! If you haven’t read Matt’s story hurry and head over and catch up on Matt’s medical diagnosis and how he is the amazing kid he is. To Matt, birthdays are everything. He wants to celebrate them with everyone! Matt doesn’t eat by mouth, he takes formula through a tummy tube, but he cares that everyone around him eats and has yummy treats. This equated to my sweet mom buying 100 treats for him to take to school and pass out to all of his friends. Matt and my mom headed to the store and Matt got to pick any treats he wanted. He ended up picking M&M’s® because of Matt-Man. I was even more excited he picked M&M’s® because of the M&M’s® Crispy that they finally brought back! I mean, who doesn’t love the delicious M&M’s® Crispy’s!? I was so sad when they took them away and seriously jumped for joy the day that I heard they came back! My mom printed out Happy Birthday Matt tags and put them on the M&M’s® for him to pass out. He had the best day ever passing them out on Thursday and Friday.

Matt’s birthday celebrations honestly was 4 days long! From passing out M&M’s® starting Thursday, passing out more on Friday and receiving balloons from sweet Maddie and gifts from his friends at school, his bowling party on Saturday, and his actual birthday Sunday we had so much fun!

Matt truly has the best friends! He got to pick 4 friends to take bowling with our family and he picked Maddie of course, awesome Pake who is Matt’s best friend at school and plays sports with him and let’s Matt call all the shots, Logan who comes and plays FIFA with Matt probably twice a week, and Logan’s girlfriend Holly who was Matt’s girlfriend a few years ago at Fremont. They all are so good with him. They treat him just like everyone else. They tease him, don’t treat him like he is fragile, and truly love him. The trash talking between all of them and Matt while bowling was truly priceless! Matt gets so competitive and it makes him so mad when people beat him.

Uncle Matt was so excited King got to come bowling. We didn’t have anyone who could watch him so we kept him covered in the bowling ally except for a couple pictures. Matt asked all day long if we could take King, and as much as I didn’t want him around the germs, it made Matt’s entire day.

I of course had to steal a few bags of M&M’s® Crispy in the diaper bag. I swear pumping makes me so hungry all the time! I am always snacking on a treat or a protein bar which makes loosing this little bit of baby weight I have left hard. I do love me some treats though and where the M&M’s® Crispy are only 180 calories per bag, I don’t feel guilty eating them all the time… I even snagged the big bag down the baking aisle and then grabbed a few more individual bags at the checkout. I think I may have a new addiction…

Matt loves taking his new bowling ball we gave him for Christmas. Zach painted it for him. On the other side there is the Batman symbol. He even has a hard case for it that says Matt-Man and has the Batman symbol. It was seriously the best Christmas gift we have ever given!

Matt, we hope you had the happiest of birthdays! We love you so much! You are the best uncle, babysitter, bad guy getting, diet coke sipping boy!
