My Outdoor Sanctuary
Our patio area in our home is somewhere that I have wanted to finish for a long time. While there is always still stuff I would love to add or have Zach build eventually this space has become my sanctuary FAST. It came together better than I could have ever imagined and is a place I know I am going to spend hours upon hours at especially when baby sister joins us end of June. The space where I decided to put everything is shaded in the afternoon when my kids play outside the most, I did this knowing I would have a newborn to keep cool during the summer months and put together this space with nursing my baby in mind and so much more. I’m so excited to share this space with you!
The statement piece for this space is the daybed, I mean could you die. It is something that I am seriously OBSESSED with. It is exactly my style and something that I feel like I could have searched forever for and never found one as perfect as this. I love that I will be able to lay on, watch my kids play and nurse/snuggle my sweet new little girl. I love the rattan detail of this piece, I think that we all know by now how obsessed I am with rattan.
I added a little side table to keep things that I will need while nursing the baby on like my water, snacks, etc. I wanted to have a space where I don’t have to leave to run and grab things while trying to nurse a baby. I wanted things to be in reach but still pretty and aesthetically pleasing. This little table has already been used so many times today holding snacks for my kids as they lounge on the daybed, holding my phone, or even my water cup that never leaves my side.
Lastly the floor cushions and the plants. Is anyone surprised that I put plants all over out here? These plants are all faux right now because it is still too cold in Utah to have real plants outside. I’m so excited to add even more plants to this space as the weather warms up. The floor cushions are where I see King, Lettie, and the little neighbor kids all hanging out. They are the perfect addition to this space with the texture and color they add all while being functional.
I hope you love this space like I do. It quickly became my all time favorite place at our house and somewhere where I know that I am going to spend so much time and absolutely love the functionality and feeling it brings to our patio.
