OUR ADVENTURES. OUR STORY. OUR MEMORIES.
Our lives are so up in the air right now, King’s whole world has been turned upside down, his normalcy is gone, and a new adventure has begun. Our new adventure has been an adventure for all of us, but one thing that I strived my best to keep the same is playing with King through the chaos of this nine months of building our home. I wanted the snuggles, loves, playing, and adventuring together to stay the same, to let that be his light through all the craziness for him.
We have beens staying at my in-laws, but play at my parents a lot during the day to help with Matt, have extra hands with King, and she watches King for me when I have appointments and such. We all know that I am a blogger (duh, right) so I wanted to switch things up a little at my moms while we were there and brighten things up for pictures. I can’t wait for our new home to be done, think white walls, white cabinets, white counters, white floors, white everything. I can’t wait, but in the mean time, I wanted to bring a little white into my parents very warm toned house.
The picture below is a picture of Zach and I before switching anything out. You can see how warm toned the photo is. My parents love browns, maroons, wood, etc. I love that it is their taste and that their home reflects that, however, it isn’t my taste and isn’t the best for photos if we are being completely honest. So with their permission I switched out their rug to one from Wayfair that is a bright white with gray tones that will go in our new home that I have been swooning over for quite some time.
The photo below is with the new white rug. You can see how much brighter it makes the room feel instantly. My mom who hates change even mentioned that it was so much brighter and happier feeling. Switching out a rug is an easy change, it is something that can be done quickly without much effort. It is also something that will make a world of difference in your room. If you are wanting to update your room on a budget, think of switching out or adding a rug to begin with. It is something that is an affordable option for a room re-do to start with. You won’t believe the difference a rug makes.
Snuggles are even better on our new rug, King actually won’t get off of it and we were laughing so hard while he was making “rug angels” last night. He runs to it, rolls around on it, and my heart just about bursts that he is staying in one place for a few minutes. It is the place that we watch TV, play tractors, steam roller, and eat snacks. It is the place King runs to first when we get to grandma, and I have to pull him away from as we leave to go back to my in-laws. It is a place that will now share this small hard adventure of living with family to our new home that we have worked so hard to have. It will have so many memories, loves, snuggles, and stories in it. It isn’t just a “picture rug” to my little family, it shares our adventure and our story.
