Our Hang Out Spot
We moved into our new home and are smitten over here. It is crazy how much having your own space is good for the soul. I joked with Zach that it is crazy to me that all our stuff is in one place for once! We have been storing things at my parents house while we built our home and then were living with my in-laws so everything was all in storage. It has been so fun to be able “design” our home to what I love. I say design lightly because I am for sure no designer. I have loved picking out everything to go in to my home, making it the things that I love, reflecting my style, and making it a place that my family can make memories.
When it came to decorating our living room, I wanted it to be simple, clean, and somewhere that we can hang out together as a family not being afraid to play, make messes, and have fun. I knew I wanted white walls, clean flooring, and the feeling to be clean and modern. We decided to tile our entire main floor besides our bedrooms so that messes aren’t a problem. I went with a mid-century modern feel. When it came to finding a new TV for our space I wanted something that would reflect the room that I had dreamed of. I saw a commercial for Samsung’s new “The Frame” TV and knew that it was what I wanted eventually in my home. I put it down on my wishlist and called Zach crying the day that I received an email that Samsung wanted to work with me. It was literally a dream come true!
So let me tell you about why I am obsessed with this TV. First off, look how sleek it is – it is designed to hang on your wall just like an actual picture frame. The outer gun metal part is a frame that actually can be swapped out with different frames to match your house and your own design style. How amazing is that? Second, see the giraffe on there? that That is actually a piece of art. When you aren’t watching TV, you can put The Frame into Art Mode and pick from hundreds of pieces of pre-loaded art to display on your TV. It is motion activated so after so long it will turn off to preserve energy until it detects movement back in the room. I love that it makes the TV a part of your decor rather than something just to watch when you want to watch a show or just a black screen on your wall. Zach is obsessed that it is a 4K HDR Pro TV, while I am obsessed that I can change the actual frame and display art pieces or even upload my own family pictures. It also has an invisible connection cable and their one connect box so there aren’t a big mess of cables and cords showing which I also love (we ended up hiding this transparent cable, but if we didn’t, you would barely be able to see it). This TV comes in 55” and 65”.
While we have most of our house still in boxes that we slid out of the way to share this space with you, we have already created so many memories in our home so quickly. We make cookies while watching and giggling at shows, play games on the rug, race cars around the tile, and just feel so much love and happiness in our home.
It for sure isn’t the things in your home that make it a home, it is the people there, the feelings felt, and knowing you are surrounded with the people that mean the most to you.
