Our Healthy Eating Plan & How Simple it Can Be
Our little family has been working hard for the past year or two about making healthier eating habits & choices. This was something that was really intimidating for me initially, I didn’t grow up with eating super healthy meals or having a vegetable at every meal. It wasn’t something that worked for my family with having Matt (you can read his story here) and my sweet sweet parents constantly caring for him. The older I get the more I realize how important it is for me to be healthier and how much better I feel when I am eating healthy.
I started asking friends and researching different ways to eat healthy and was constantly overwhelmed. I just wanted something simple, but when you are changing the entire way that you have always known how to eat it is a lot. I tried using Pinterest recipes and was overwhelmed constantly looking for new ones and trying to grocery shop and plan everything. It was just too much for me and so I wouldn’t do it.
A friend of mine recommended Erika from Clean Simple Eats meal plans/recipe books. I ended up purchasing one of them and never looked back. I don’t always use it as her meal plan but more often like a recipe book. I love flipping through the pages and planning out my week to what looks good. I can 100% honestly say that there have only been one or two recipes that we haven’t absolutely loved from over 6 of her books. The past 2 books we have followed her meal plan and it takes all the guess work out of figuring out what to eat but also gives you freedom to swap different snacks and recipes in where you want to. There is also a shopping list at the beginning of each week that has all your groceries all written out for you so you can just type those into Clicklist and be good to go.
The recipes are simple, no weird strange ingredients that you can’t find, and don’t take all night to make. They are realistic for my entire family to eat and that is what is important to me. I don’t want to me making 5 different meals every night so every one is happy.
The Clean Simple Eats books have changed my little families life. They make it so simple to eat healthy, still have normal yummy food, and everyone eat the same meal. I also use both of her protein powders and absolutely love them.
