Our Tried & True Summer Toys
1 – Bubble Machine
I made fun of Zach when he wanted this bubble machine and now I understand why. No silly kids machine that is going to break in 3 days, this bad boy works like a charm and has lasted us a couple years so far & is still going strong! My kids love to turn it on and chase the bubbles around. We use this bubble juice.
2 – Kids Car
My grandparents bought this for King for his first birthday (the truck version) and he is in love with it and still plays with it 3 years later. Lettie girl has found a new love for it too and we can pull it down to the grass and she will just sit in it and play. It is such a fun toy for ages 1-5 probably!
3 – Blue Tractor
This was an investment toy but man it was one of the best investments we have ever bought. It has been amazing and King has been completely obsessed with it. He drives it literally everywhere and it is the best toy. It is worth spending more for this one because it has held up amazing!
Man, Zach makes fun of us hardcore because King and I scooter together all day every day. He saved up his own money to buy his own scooter and we paid half on it. His little scooter CRUZES and is perfect for him. It goes up to age 7 too so it will last him awhile and then Lettie can use it!
5 – Water Table
King has his own water table that he still plays with and then Lettie girl got one for her birthday that we don’t let King be rough with. My kids will play water table for hours! They play “sink or float” with them putting different things in to see if it will sink or float and all sorts of other things that use their imagination.
6 – Water Balloons
I bought these last year and we didn’t get our grass in our yard in time to play with them. I love that they all fill up with the hose at the same time and tie themselves! We can’t wait to fill them this weekend and have a water balloon fight if the weather will get warm enough!
This is another investment “toy” but it is well worth it! We got ours this spring and my kids play on it non-stop and so do the neighbor kids. Lifetime products last forever so we knew it would be a toy that our kids could play with forever!!
King and Lettie love to dig in the yard while I am weeding. King has the bigger shovel set and Lettie has the smaller one and they both help me in the yard. It is perfect to have their own tools for each of them so they are safe for their age range but they still feel included.
9 – Balance Bike
King got this balance bike for his second birthday and now where we live it doesn’t get rode a ton because we have a crazy steep driveway and the road we live on is also a hill. However we load it up and take it to Oma & Ompas a lot and it is a great bike for them to learn how to ride!
10 – Rectangle Swing
We bought this just barley and are obsessed with it. We replaced a regular swing on our playset with this one and Lettie girl and I lay and swing on it all afternoon. It is the best thing because multiple kids can swing on it at the same time so it prevents a lot of swing fights and Lettie girl can sit on it and it is big enough I don’t worry about her falling off of it!
