How to Wear the Oversized Jacket Trend
Babes bigger doesn’t always mean better, right? However, when it comes to the oversized jacket trend bigger can be better as long as you are wearing it correctly. Today I am sharing you my top tips and tricks to mastering the oversized jacket trend.
Oversized jean jackets seem to be what I am seeing all over the place this spring. I am loving them with this baby bump of mine because they are easy to layer and something that I can wear after baby sister comes. I have watched some of my favorite girls style them over dresses, with jeans and a tee, or even dressed up with a pencil skirt. They are something that I feel like is a trend probably just for spring and fall, but that is okay as long as you find a jacket that won’t break the bank (hello under $35!). I think that this is a trend that can quickly go wrong if you don’t take the time to really think about the outfit you are putting together, however when put together right it is perfection!
jacket – under $35 || jeans || tee – non-maternity || similar booties || crossbody bag
I have noticed so many of my favorite blogger babes wearing oversized jean jackets and every time I click to go see that jacket it is at least a hundred dollars and something that I am not willing to pay for a denim jacket that may or may not be in style next season. I took it upon myself to find a jacket under $50 that you can rock this season and then not feel bad if it isn’t in season next year because it doesn’t break the bank. This jacket is super similar to the Topshop denim oversized jacket that is on Nordstrom but without the price tag. I was super impressed with the quality of it and have loved wearing it already for this spring weather.
Let’s chat some tips to wearing your oversized jacket:
– Pair it with something form fitting underneath whether it be a tee shirt, fitted dress, pencil skirt with basic tee, etc. This will help you keep your shape and not look frumpy.
– Keep your outfit simple. You can pair textures or patterns under it if you would like, but you don’t have to. Simple is sometimes better!
– Have confidence when wearing it! This is what really sells an outfit and makes it look put together!!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the oversized jacket trend and see if it is something that you will be adding to your closet this spring!
