You guys know that I am a big food and recipe lover. I love to make beautiful simple recipes that will leave your taste buds wanting more. I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes with you. This recipe is so quick, easy, and absolutely stunning to the eye. I mean, look at that beautiful skewer. They would be perfect for lunch, an appetizer, or for any type of party you throw. You won’t believe how simple they are, and they taste like they are from a gourmet restaurant, even better right?
When I saw the fresh baked California Sourdough Bread at Smith’s when I was picking up groceries, my heart pitter pattered a little bit. Fresh baked bread and sourdough are always my favorite. Can you believe that they make it fresh daily at your grocery store’s bakery? This is music to my busy mom ears. It is so yummy babes. We snag at least two loaves a week because we eat it so fast. I love to buy the sandwich loaves because they are so versatile to use, and let’s be honest, I don’t have time to slice up bread when I am in a rush. There also is just something about browsing the aisles in the bakery to pick out fresh baked bread, isn’t there? Oh mommas, your life is going to be forever changed with this bread. Okay, let’s get to the recipe shall we?
(Full printable recipe is found at the bottom of the post)
You will want to snag some turkey, pesto (I buy mine pre-made from Smith’s, but fresh would be so delicious too!), grape tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and of course your delicious California Goldminer Sourdough Bread. Pretty simple right?
First you will take your bread and spread pesto on it. If you are obsessed with pesto like I am, you can do a thick spread. If you are like my husband and will eat it but you aren’t obsessed about it, you can put a thin layer. This recipe is all about tailoring it to what you love.
Now comes the yummy mozzarella cheese. Place your bread with the pesto on it on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle cheese on your bread, like I said, tailor this to you! If you love cheese layer it on, if not just give it a sprinkle. Next, place your bread in the oven on broil. Make sure to watch it close. You will want to take it out when the edges of the bread are golden and the cheese is fully melted.
Once it is out of the oven, cut your bread into squares. Now you will layer the delicious sourdough mozzarella bread with tomatoes and turkey to make a skewer that will keep your mouth watering. The freshness of the fresh baked bread with the fresh tomatoes and savory pesto is something that who ever you decide to share these with will rave about. You will be the talk of the neighborhood for a delicious recipe that was simple to make, yet seems like you are a gourmet chef!
One last quick thing I want to share with you… My favorite thing about the California Goldminer Sourdough Bread is that you can do so many things with the “leftover” bread. Our favorite thing to make would be to take the bread and turn it into bread crumbs and make sourdough meatballs with zucchini noodles and your favorite pasta sauce. Babe, I challenge you to snag some delicious bread, make a yummy recipe, and then use the “leftover” slices for something else. It is so fun to get creative in the kitchen.

Those skewers look great! What a fun and easy way to enjoy sourdough any day while still making it look “fancy” even if you’re just making lunch for yourself! #client
