PONDERING…
Sometimes you just have to sit back and look around at your life. Are you the person that you thought you would be? Are you better? Or are you struggling in some points? I think it is important for us all to reflect on ourselves and the people we truly are inside. I feel like more and more lately that people do things just for the show of things, rather than to genuinely care or do something because they want to. It breaks my heart. Can’t we all do things out of the goodness of our hearts rather than to gain something? A sweet high school girl was nominated for PROM Queen at Fremont along with 3 special needs girls. This girl bought all the special needs girls bracelets and little crowns to wear as they walked through the assembly. She didn’t do it in front of people, but rather behind the scenes. I went up to her after and told her how impressed I was by her and how my favorite part of all of it was how she didn’t do it for a show or to gain anything. Her response was something that will stick with me forever. She said “Well, it isn’t for me”. This is something that constantly runs through my head. Am I living my life for others? Am I doing things that “isn’t for me”? I think that service is something that a lot of people over look those days. Something that is starting to become lost. Things like taking dinner to a sick friend, handwritten cards, etc. Let’s bring it back. Let’s bring back the happiness! I want to challenge you with me to do one little thing this week that “isn’t for you”. That is for someone else. It can be something simple like sending a card in the mail to a friend you haven’t talked to in a long time, or something like taking dinner to a sick neighbor or someone who is moving in. After you are finished take a step back and think about how you feel after. I guarantee you will be happier!
Okay enough with my rant. I love you all! Have a beautiful happy hump day! Oh and all you bloggers, don’t forget to enter the full blog overhaul giveaway!
