Red Casual Dress: 3 Tips To Dressing Down Dresses
I am the queen of dressing down a dress to make it functional to chase King around in. I still want to look put together and feel good, but also need the functionality of wearing sneakers. I have a few tips up my sleeve for you on how to dress down your dresses with sneakers today. I am 99% of the time in sneakers so I thought I would share the things that work for me in pairing them with this red casual dress.

1 – Pick a dress that is shorter, I don’t mean like a mini dress, but that hits at your calves or higher. This way you will see your sneakers and it gives a better look to the outfit. For some reason I feel like they look silly with maxi skirts or dresses, I can’t figure out why but I think it is because you can’t fully see them so it looks like you are trying to hide them. Embrace the sneakers and let them fully show!
2 – Grab sneakers that are in a color like Navy, Grey, or Off White. This gives the sneakers a little bit of a different look to them and I think it is easier to pair them. I am obsessed with my Adidas Neo Courtsets. I love that they are a fabric upper sneaker so they look a little bit more dressed up. They are super comfortable and I wear them with dresses (like this super cute red casual dress), skirts, or even jeans (duh don’t we all wear sneakers with jeans?). I love that the Adidas Courtsets have a retro look to them, reto looking sneakers are my jam lately and these are perfect!!
3 – Be confident and don’t be afraid! Rock your sneakers with your dress, feel good about it, and don’t stress too much on how you pair them. If you are nervous at first wear more of a knit dress and then work your way up to different dresses, patterns, etc. I promise you that it isn’t as hard as it seems and that you will be obsessed with pairing your dresses with sneakers like I am!
I love that Famous Footwear right now is empowering women everywhere to #stepforward confidently. You’ve got this babe! Rock your sneakers, walk all over campus, chase your littles, dance in the parking lot in them or heck even work out in them and you will totally rock it!
