Room Organization – Baby Nursery
Babies have so many things right? Everything from diapers, wipes, binkies, tiny little socks, bows (for girls), swaddles, blankets, burp cloths, and the list goes on and on. Organizing everything in a space can be tricky especially if you don’t have a closet like us in Rosie’s room. We are working to transition my office into her bedroom currently and there isn’t a closet in there so we are thinking outside the box when it comes to organization and storage.
I knew I wanted the storage in her room to be pretty, I wanted it to look intentional and still serve a purpose. I kept all those things in mind when snagging a few pieces of furniture to make the space pretty and functional. I was able to snag everything I needed for organization at Joss & Main and shopping for everything in one place made it super simple to plan & order.
This space the dresser is, is where a closet would have been. It is the perfect little cut out to fit a dresser. I am in love with the way this wooden, modern dresser is in it’s own little space. It is the perfect size and I love that it has six big drawers. Inside each drawer I put little bins to hold things like bows, little baby pants, diapers, etc. It helps to keep everything in it’s spot while still being in a big space like a drawer.
Where there is no closet, I knew I really needed to think outside the box. When I saw this bedroom bench I knew it was perfect to put some pretty plants on while still using baskets for storage underneath. The baskets have little things in them like baby socks, burp rags, and binkies. I thought a lot about what I wanted to put down here because I knew it needed to be things that if my other two kids poured out or got into it wouldn’t be a big deal and also things that if I need them I can send them to go grab something while helping me.
Baskets are another way I really utilized storage in the nursery. I knew baskets would add texture and warmth to the space all while giving me extra storage. In the baskets I have things like swaddle blankets, thicker blankets, and my baby wearing wraps. These are things that if my kids pour or dump out it isn’t a big deal because we can toss it all back into the basket and easily put it away.
The function and organization in Rosie’s room came together better than I could have dreamed of. I can’t wait to share the entire room with you soon. Let’s just say it was better than the picture I had in my head!
