3 Simple Braid Ideas for Long Hair
Babes when it comes to braids I am OBSESSED! I love a great off the face hairstyle and a simple braid seems to always do the trick. So many of you have asked me about my top simple braid ideas for long hair, so today I am sharing 3 of my favorite simple braid ideas for long hair.
The products you will use for all 3 of these styles are the same and all linked here:
|| SIMPLE BRAID #1 – FRENCH BRAID WRAP AROUND PONY TAIL ||
This is probably my go to style because it holds all day long for me even with chasing King around. I love that the french braid dresses up a regular pony tail and gives it something a little extra.
STEPS:
1 – Take a small section of hair (about an inch) just off one side of your part.
2 – Start to dutch french braid it by taking the outside pieces underneath the middle peace.
3 – Dutch french braid until you hit your temple, then finish off with a regular 3 strand braid.
4 – Tie braid off with an elastic.
5 – Gently pull out the braid making it look more full.
6 – Pull hair in a pony tail leaving the braid out and secure with an elastic.
7 – Wrap braid around pony tail and secure under elastic with a bobby bin.
8 – Finish off with hairspray!
|| SIMPLE BRAID IDEA #2 – TWIST PUSH BRAID ||
The first time I saw this braid was on my sweet friend Abby’s blog Twist Me Pretty. It is such a beautiful braid that isn’t even really a braid. It took me a second to get the hang of it, but now that I do it is something that is super quick and simple to hurry and do to my hair to make it look really pretty and put together.
STEPS:
1 – Pull all your hair to the nape of your neck like you are going to put it in a ponytail.
2 – Part the ponytail down the middle so you have 2 sections.
3 – Twist both sections. You are going to twist them toward each other.
4 – Take your pointer finger and go through (from the outside) one section and then through the second section making 2 new sections.
5 – Twist sections toward each other.
6 – Take your pointer finger and go through (from the outside) one section and then through the second section making 2 new sections.
7 – Repeat all the way down.
8 – Tie off with an elastic and finish off with hairspray!
|| SIMPLE BRAID IDEA #3 – TOPSY TAIL BRAID ||
Topsy tails aren’t just for little girls, they are perfect for making a faux fishtail braid on mama’s and women! I love doing this instead of a fishtail braid because it holds so much better in my hair than a fishtail braid, but looks just as stunning!
STEPS:
1 – Pull hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck.
2 – Create a hole in the center just above the elastic you put in.
3 – Flip pony tail up toward the top of your head and pull through the hole.
4 – Place an elastic in the hair that you just pulled through and repeat steps 2-3 until you get to the end of your hair.
5 – Finish off with hairspray!
I hope these braids or “wanna be braids” help you to have some different styles you can do for summer time! They are all simple, take under 10 minutes and look stunning!
