Simplifying Back To School Clothes
Back to school has always been one of my favorite times of the year. Not only am I school supplies obsessed, but the memories of shopping with my sweet grandma for my back to school clothes is something that becomes really vivid. She would take me shopping and buy me the nicest clothes in the store to make sure that I felt good about myself when I was headed back to school. She would have me try everything on, do a little fashion show, buy it, and then have me do another fashion show when we got home. It was the best thing ever growing up and something that I will never forget.
Shopping for King has always been something that I have loved. I love dressing him in brands like Hurley & Nike but they also can be really expensive to dress a little boy in. When I had King my mom told me to always look at Gordmans before buying his clothes other places and it is something I have always stuck to. They have the brands that I love and suit King for prices that are way more affordable. I can get just about everything for him in one place and let him go shopping with me like my grandma did when I was little. Taking him to one store isn’t as overwhelming as it is to take him to the mall.
Gordmans is doing something amazing this year for back to school and is participating in the No Kids Hungry® Organization campaign to bring awareness to childhood hunger. They are donating 50% of retail sales on select items to No Kids Hungry® Organization. From July 21 to August 31, show your support for No Kid Hungry® by posting a photo on your Instagram feed using the hashtag #FuelKidsFutures and Gordmans will donate $1.00 to No Kid Hungry® (up to $10,000). Knowing that my purchase can help to a greater cause when it was something I was already purchasing is something that brings so much fullness to my heart. Why not give back to a cause when you were already planning on purchasing an item? (This program goes from July 21st-August 31st 2019 – You can read more about the campaign here.)
I have always been one to go overboard when it comes to back to school shopping for clothes. Zach and I sat down this year and talked about it. We both decided that we would rather have fewer items for our kids that we absolutely love instead of a closet full of clothes that aren’t our favorite and we have been living by that for this year. It has been so good because I feel like I can spend a little bit more on a piece that I love because I know that we are only going to have things we absolutely love in our kids closets.
Kings Back To School Clothes List:
8 pair of pants (one for every day of the week + an extra)
5 t-shirts
5 long sleeve t-shirts
5 sweatshirts/hoodies
2 pair of sneakers
1 pair of nicer dressier shoes
Backpack
That is all! That is what we are sticking to and it has been so good. After taking him to Gordmans last week I can proudly say that the little boy is just about done and only needs 1 more pair of shoes and we are set for all year of preschool! I would love to know what your back to school list looks like for your littles and how you plan on tackling it!
