{st. pattys day craft}
Happy Saturday everyone! I have a craft to show you! It can be your Saturday activity! I am so blessed to have a husband that will cut wood for me in whatever design/shape that I want! I asked him for a shamrock and this is what he came up with! Mr. Creative right! His only deal with me is that he is just the wood cutter, he won’t do any crafting! I think its a pretty good deal! So here is what I cam up with!
This is what I started out with:
I then painted it green.
After painting it green I couldn’t decide between putting paper on it or stenciling it with a wall stencil. I decided on the wall stencil because I wanted something different. We purchased our stencil at Hobby Lobby for 16.99.
Here is the stencil I used.
I laid the stencil on the shamrock and then painted with cream paint. Pull the stencil off while the paint was still wet.
Here is what it looked like after stenciling.
I then sanded it, to distress it.
After sanding it I rubbed brown stain on it so the places I distressed would show up more. I then drilled holes and put some wire through it. To make the loops in the wire I just wrapped it around a high lighter.
Here is the finished product!
