Swimming…Oh swimming. King hates is so much, it kind of is breaking my heart… I put him in swimming lessons in a mom and tot class and he death grips me the entire time… Screaming, tears, kicking, everything. Let’s just say, first off I am not going to give up on swimming lessons, second off, I am hoping that with someone else he won’t be so terrified… I am thinking though we will be spending a lot of time outside the pull this year and playing from the sidelines.
I have a few tips that I want to share with you that have helped to make our pool & swim trips a little bit easier. First, always take a blanket that is different than your towel that you can lay on the ground to keep your stuff on and for you and your toddler to sit on. This will help so you aren’t frantically trying to move things off of your towel to get you and your toddler dried off, or your toddler isn’t sitting on the hot cement (which still might happen anyways ha). Next, I always like to take a few different bags to the pool with me. I love a cooler bag to keep our drinks cold. I always make sure to bring a lot of water for King so that way he doesn’t get dehydrated. A plastic pool tote bag is essential, toddlers are unpredictable and having a bag that doesn’t matter if it gets wet is key. I always have a smaller tote bag in my plastic bag incase I need to haul in or out more stuff than I anticipated. This watermelon bag is darling and super affordable. It is the perfect size to throw in another bag just incase you need extra space. Sunscreen is always a big thing. We love this sunscreen and love these sticks for King’s face. It has to be reapplied like every other sunscreen, but seems to work really well for King’s fair skin.
This PakPak swimsuit that I am wearing is a favorite of mine. I love the bright and happy stripe print and the fabric is truly a dream. It is thick enough to hold you in, but not so thick that you get squished in places that you don’t want to. I love that the top is a little bit longer than a typical bikini top, and gives a lot of coverage. The bottoms have the perfect cut to them that they are flattering, but not baggy. Babes, this swimsuit is truly a dream.
This little swim diaper above is a must have. This is a reusable swim diaper. Really. It is one size that has buttons to change the sizing anywhere from newborns to toddlers. This has changed our life with swimming. The sweetest girl Kaitlyn makes them and she just makes my heart burst. You really need these in your life babes.
