Can you believe that the big game is in just a couple weeks? Matt my special needs brother has already started planning his party! He gets so excited for the big game, jumping on whatever bandwagon he needs to be on, and planning treats and food for everyone to eat during his party. He always has me bring a treat/cake/cupcakes of some sort. I generally make something, but oh I just have too much on my plate right now to be able to make something up to Matt’s standards for his big game party so I ran and snagged something oh so delicious.
King and I of course had to give our yummy OREO I Love Ice Cream cake a try before the big game because who can leave one of these sitting in the freezer?! We are going to go back the night before (okay maybe sooner because I don’t want to miss out on a cake) to get their Carvel® Game Ball® Ice Cream Cake that is a football shaped cake made with layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, chocolate crunchies, and whipped cream. Umm YUMM! They seriously are perfect for parties and events because you just pull it out of the freezer, it is on a cardboard plate, and set it out and it looks like you did all the hard work of an amazing cake! They have tons of different cakes including Carvel®, Peanuts®, Hello Kitty® and Jon Donaire®, along with delicious flavored cakes like my favorite OREO®! (You can find stores that carry I Love Ice Cream Cakes near you here)
Let’s chat about the secrets to having the perfect big game party. I think often times as women we feel like we need to do it all, make everything Pinterest worthy, and be the best of the best with a smile on your face. I am 100% guilty of that. Well, life isn’t fun or happy for me when I am in that mindset, especially when it comes to putting together parties. So, I am going to share with you what helps me to have a good party, not be stressed out, and still have it be a success!
1 – Don’t feel like you need to make all the food! I think this is where we stress ourselves out a lot. Run to Walmart, grab some I Love Ice Cream cakes and I promise you that everyone is going to be happy and be obsessed with the cakes that you have. This goes for anything though! Get catering for dinner if you need to! Really, this takes such a huge stressor off of you and will make your day/party run so much smoother.
2 – Don’t over do it. People are going to be there to watch the game, not to pick a part your party decor! Keep your decor simple, pull pieces that you already have. Don’t go buy everything new (unless you want to, then girl, you go shop!). I promise that the things that you have will go farther than you think and pull together amazingly.
3 – Enjoy the party too! A lot of times I know that I get too into the food, decorating, and everything in between during the party to make sure that everything looks perfect. Well, guess what, I hate the party the whole time because I am stressed out, not chatting with friends, etc. Take time to enjoy it! No one is going to care that your center piece was bumped off center for goodness sake! Take time, enjoy your friends, the food, and have fun!
We hope that you party turns out amazing! You are going to have people rushing to the table for your I Love Ice Cream Cakes! Make sure to sign up for the Crunchie Club for party tips, discounts, and more! Let me know how your party goes!
