We headed to Disneyland a couple weeks ago and had a blast. If I could live there I totally would. It is the happiest place on earth truly. While I will be sharing more about our trip and a video later, I wanted to share with you a few tricks I learned to doing Disneyland with a little one. While I was worried about if we would make it all day there or not, King was a trooper and the only thing he hated was getting pictures with the characters ha. So… look at our cute pictures and scroll down to learn some tips and tricks and how to make your own Disney autograph book!
My first tip is to take a diaper bag, duh right, but make sure you pack a few extra things in it. An extra outfit is a must, but so are diaper and wipes that you know work for your little one and prevent leaks and blow outs. Our go to is Huggies. We ran to Family Dollar (we love their great value they have on diapers & wipes!) and stocked up before our trip so we wouldn’t run out. We love how they fit King and have never had a leak and only a couple blow outs. They have saved our life. Make sure to pack a few more than you think you will need to, it is easier to carry around a couple extra diapers than to run back to the hotel room… Also, I say take a big pack of wipes. We also love Huggies because of how soft and gentle they are on King’s skin, but they also clean up better than any other kind we have tried. You will use these for way more than you think you will while in the park, trust me on that. Next, you will want to pack a sippy cup if your little on still uses them. King hasn’t quite mastered drinking out of a straw so it was nice to buy a milk from a restaurant in the park and pour it into the sippy cup and hand it to him rather than trying to give it to him through a straw. We packed Kings monster that he sleeps with and it is what made it so we could stay in the park all day. When he was ready for a nap we would hand it to him in the stroller and he was out. If your little one has a comfort item they sleep with, throw it in under the stroller or in your diaper bag. It will make naps so much easier on the go. Lastly, take an autograph book or make your own like we did here. My sister in law actually came up with these and we loved them. We love that they are big enough you can put a picture in them, or you can just do autographs. I took a polaroid camera and would take pictures with King/our family with the characters and then washi-tape them in the book after they signed the page. It turned out darling.
How to make your own Disney Autograph book
S U P P L I E S:
White thick cardstock paper. You will want the thick stuff because regular printer paper is too flimsy for when they try to sign it.
Patterned paper for the front and back of your book. Also another sheet for cutting out their name, year, and where you are going.
A ring to put the book together with.
Ribbon if you choose to tie around the ring.
First, you are going to use your personal cutting machine to cut out Micky Mouse shapes out of the paper. I used my Cricut and it worked perfectly. You can either buy the shape from them, or you can find one online to upload. Cut out however many pages you would like on the white cardstock (we did 10 pages) and cut out your front and back of the book with the patterned paper. If you are good with free hand cutting (I am terrible) you can even free hand the pages if you don’t have a machine like the Cricut.
Next, you can either use patterned paper for both or white and patterned paper like we did above. You are going to cut on your personal cutting machine again and cut out your childs name, the month and year, and where you are going whether it be Disneyland or Disney World.
Next, take your ring and tie some ribbon on the ends of it to make it fringy. We did Disney colors, but you can do your child’s favorite too if you would like.
Lastly, layer your cover on top, your white cardstock pages next, and lastly your back page. Punch a hole through the top corner, and put your ring through it. Then you are finished and ready for the most magical trip of your life! I hope you enjoy babes! Oh and one more thing, you can find more fun projects with Huggies here! XO
You can find Huggies products at your local Family Dollar for a great value!
