We are slightly cereal obsessed over here. We love a good cereal not only for breakfast, but they are a staple for snack time at our house too. I always love to find new ways to use cereal and to do activities with snack time. Honey Bunches of Oats are a favorite at our house. We each love a different flavor, but could eat them all. My favorite is the Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted, Zach loves Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, and of course King’s favorite is the Honey Bunches of Oats Gluten Free Chocolate. We love to eat cereal together in the morning and talk about what our plans for the day are. Even though we all have different flavors that we love, it brings our little family together every morning and we love that!
We invited some friends over the other day and had snack time together. I have really been thinking of how to make snack time more interactive for King and to start teaching him things like his colors and shapes. I know he is little, but I feel like it is such a good bonding time for us and it helps him to sit still a little bit longer while he eats. Win, win right?
Here is how to make your own snack time shape activity!

I made these cute I know my shapes printables (you can download here) and grabbed our favorite boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats. I set up our kids table and had each little one sit down. Then I put the Honey Bunches of Oats in colored bowls and gave each of our friends a shapes paper. Each little one was able to fill the shapes on their paper with different flavors of cereal and we talked about the different shapes and found them around my house.
King loved feeling the texture of the cereal and it was so fun to let him play and snack on it at the same time. It was the perfect activity and snack time!
