Tips to Sleeping Better at Night with Tomorrow Sleep…Don’t We All Need It??
I feel like for the longest time and still sometimes even (I blame pregnancy) now I wake up in the mornings and it felt like I never went to sleep…like at all. I am groggy, tired, my body aches, and I just am plain ‘ol tired. Exhausted at that. Sleeping is something that is so important that I feel like most of us aren’t either getting enough of, or are not sleeping good when we are asleep. Anyone else toss and turn all night? Wake up at a random hour of the night and lay there for a few hours and just can’t fall back asleep no matter how tired you are? Yep this was me ALL THE TIME.
My crazy sleep is now from pregnancy, back aches from how the baby has moved, waking up to that feeling of throwing up, reflux, etc. All things that are disrupting my sleep, but those flutters and kicks in my belly make them all worth it. Not because of my mattress anymore and we thought we had the best mattress ever. Do you ever feel like that? Like you have the best thing ever and then you find a new one and realize that what you thought was the best was far from it?
I wanted to share with you 3 steps to better sleep because I think that we all could use a little bit better sleep and if you are getting perfect sleep then you need to be sharing all your secrets with me!!
1 – Find a mattress that works for YOU. We absolutely loved our new mattress, I would joke with Zach though (because I am so much smaller than he is) that when he would roll over in bed (I swear he sits alllll the way up and then throws his body back down onto the bed) that it would catapult me. It literally would wake me up at night ha. The first night that we slept on our Tomorrow Sleep Mattress I didn’t wake up once to him rolling over in bed, NOT ONCE!! I was sold on Tomorrow Sleep right that second. We are obsessed with it, the Tomorrow Sleep mattress is like a memory foam so it’s like you just soak right into it. No bouncing through the night, etc. It is AMAZING! We also have their sleep trackers that go under your Tomorrow Sleep mattress and it is insane to me how much sleep we are actually getting at night between my bathroom breaks and tossing and turning trying to figure out a comfortable sleep position with this quickly growing baby bump.
2 – Turn off your phone and the TV at least 30 minutes before you go to bed. I think this is the hardest one for me. I always want to sit and scroll through social media, answer emails, look at my week on my calendar, etc. while laying in bed. When I do put my phone away a little while before I go to sleep I sleep so much better and fall asleep so much faster even though I hate to admit it.
3 – (First off do you like all my bags shoved under the bed ha ha) Have a routine. Try to go to bed at the same time every night and do the same things every night before you go to bed. This will help your body know that it is time to go to bed and time for your mind to slow down. I do pretty well with this one, for some reason though even if I try to go to bed early I will still lay there until 10:30-11:00 before I actually lay down and go to sleep. My goal is to make staying off of my phone part of my bedtime routine.
I hope this helps you to know some things that you can try to get better sleep at night. Things that can be simple to change, but can make a huge impact in your sleep. Also if you are looking for a new mattress look into Tomorrow Sleep, we are completely obsessed like I said above so I think that everyone needs to know about it so they can be obsessed too!
