Weekend Recap – Update on Lettie’s Arm
Oh what a weekend it was, part of me is happy it is over but the other part of me is sad to see the weekend go. We had a ton of high moments but also a few really low moments. Let’s start at Friday shall we?
Friday
In our church one Sunday a month the little kids get to be in charge of our Sacrament service. They sing, have parts, and it is by far my favorite program of the year. King had practice at the church which honestly I would have usually just skipped but knowing how he is with being really nervous I decided to take him. We told him that if he went we would get him a treat after. Thank goodness for a sweet neighbor that went skipping in with King and helped him to his spot to avoid a meltdown of me leaving. About a half hour after dropping him off that same sweet neighbor text me “The spirit must have put him to sleep. He is OUT!” with the pictures below. I was dying. Usually he wakes up not the happiest so I went to go get him so no one had to handle his still tired meltdown. I waited and watched the program while he slept on the stand for awhile until our neighbor that was sitting next to him asked someone to swap her out and “hold his head”. That’s when I decided to go scoop him up and take him home.
Lettie’s Arm
After Zach got home and we had dinner we took King just down the road to our little grocery store to get a thing of ice cream. While in the car he was mad at us and yelling at Lettie to just play with him and he grabbed her arm (while she was buckled and he was too) and cranked on it. She instantly started crying harder than normal. We figured it probably just hurt and went into the grocery store and I was watching her carefully and noticing that she wouldn’t move her left arm. We ended up taking her to Insta-care where I had flash backs from our last visit there when King accidentally ran Lettie over with his ride on tractor and we found out we had to go straight to the children’s hospital by us for a broken femur. Luckily it was just a elbow out of socket and they quickly and painlessly put it back into place within just a couple seconds and she was good to go thank goodness!
Saturday
Saturday King had a soccer game and played (well was in the game, but that is a battle won so we will work on playing the actual soccer game later). He played goalie and wore the penny jersey which was another huge win. He even stopped the ball when it came to him in the goal. We were so proud of him!
Sunday
I can’t even tell you how proud I am of King. At church we had a program where the kids all sang songs and said parts (our Primary Program). Every time that King has had a program it ends with unhappiness and tears from everyone with him fighting us to be up there (kicking, scratching, screaming, tantrums, etc), and us feeling defeated. Sunday he STOOD UP THERE THE ENTIRE TIME, stood up and sat down when he was supposed to, and even sang some of the songs. I sat and cried watching him feeling so proud of the battle he just won for himself. It truly is amazing to watch your kids conquer something that has been hard for them. Way to go King!!
That is our little update from this weekend. I also got a lot of questions on King’s outfit from our Sunday picture so I will link everything here!
