Working From Home with a Toddler
I often times get direct messages asking me how I work at home with a little and tips and tricks to getting it all done. I’m the first to look at you and say that I don’t. Things are crazy, sitters come in, dinner is never made, and the house is constantly messy. It just is how life is and we pick our battles really carefully over here. I, however, do have some tips and tricks to working from home that I have learned over the past few years. I have partnered with Foster Grant Eyezen to share them with you.
1 – Don’t push yourself too high with expectations. I think that this one is the very hardest for me. I want to do everything. If you saw my list of things that I want to do for my website/business you would probably laugh. It is pages long and I know that one day I might get them done, but getting them all done right now isn’t realistic. I have to know my reality, what I can accomplish, and know that it is okay.
2 – Give yourself work hours. I am sure terrible at this one too, however when I do follow my own rules of giving myself work hours I am so much happier. They generally involve waking up early, staying up late, and working during nap time. I spend a lot of time on the computer and wearing my Foster Grant Eyezen glasses helps to protect my eyes from so much time on the computer. They help to fight the potentially harmful blue light that can come from tech devices and the temporary effects of digital eye strain. I know that I get headaches from being on the computer for so long and making sure that I wear my Foster Grant Eyezen glasses helps more than anything. Did you know that it only takes about 2 hours in front of a screen (yes phones included) to strain your eyes? I snagged these glasses for $34.99 and love that they come in so many different styles so they are on trend too.

3 – Family always comes first. Being mom and my husband always has to come first. Sure I miss out on family events/activities to having deadlines due, but making sure that my family is taken care of will always be the thing that is the most important to me. Have priorities, make sure you always put them first, and stay true to yourself.
I hope those tips help! They are simple, probably common sense, but I always need a reminder of them to be able to keep myself on track with working and making sure that I am keeping my priorities straight!

I take care of my 20 month old nephew during the day and am also working on growing my blog so I completely get this! I’ve found that being realistic about my expectations and giving myself a break some days is so important! I need to work on making specific work hours. They tend to happen sporadically, and I would much rather spend time with my husband in the evenings than working on blog posts (though that tends to be the times when I’m feeling creative right now).
