3 Health Changes I Have Made
I have been working really hard to make some health changes in my life the past few months. I have realized that I am not taking care of myself how I should and that needs to change if I want to be the best I can be to take care of my family and to be healthy. These changes have came slowly over time and I some of them might even seem a little bit silly when I say them out loud, however no matter how big or small the changes are, I know that I am working to better myself.
1 – Being more active. I have never been a morning workout girl. It is really hard for me to get up and immediately want to sweat and workout. I know this and have made changes to my life and schedule to accommodate working out in the evenings or afternoons. I wake up early now and work for a couple hours before King wakes up. If I am swamped in deadlines I will work through his nap also and then workout at night, if I am feeling okay about work then I will work out during nap time. I want to eventually work to workout first thing in the morning, but this is what is working for me right now and it is working ha so that is all that matters. When I get in a workout slump I try to buy myself a new piece or two of workout gear to get me excited again. I also will say the clothes that you work out in make all the difference (not just because you look “cute” while working out). I recently starting wearing Brooks and have fallen in love. The fit is great, it wicks away my sweat, and the shoes are great for running which I have always struggled to find good running shoes. I love that it is cute workout gear too so if I am running behind that day (which is most days) I can wear it to run errands, preschool pickup, etc. I always order mine through Zappos because they have super fast shipping, free returns if something isn’t exactly what you wanted, and a 365 day return policy. Their customer service is always amazing to work with and I love that they have a ton of different selections when it comes to finding what I am looking for.

2 – Stop drinking Diet Coke. This one wasn’t on purpose, one day the taste of Diet Coke out of cans started to be really nasty to me. I couldn’t figure it out… I have always been obsessed and suddenly I was dumping cans 3/4 down the drain because I just didn’t want it…it tasted so gross. I only drink Diet Coke now if we are out to dinner, all other times I drink water at home and it has made me feel so much better. I have so much more energy and I know that the amount of Diet Coke I was drinking was far from healthy for me.
3 – Meditation has been huge for me recently. Every night before I go to bed I meditate to an app on my phone. It has helped me clear my mind so much and to sleep more restfully. When I have having a really overwhelming day or am super stressed I also love to meditate in the day. I go in my room alone for a second, regroup, and clear my mind. It has helped me so much and I challenge you to try it and see if it helps you!
