3 Tips to Getting Things Done with Little Ones
I feel like no matter what stage of life you are in with kids, whether it is your first or your fifth, life is busy right? There is laundry that needs to be folded and put away, dinner that needs to be made, a house that needs cleaning, a baby who needs to be dressed or their bum changed, and everything in between. There is always something that needs to be done.
When I first was a mama I struggled with what to do with my little one while I completed all those tasks as silly as that sounds. I didn’t know what to do with King, where to put him, etc. I wanted him to be happy while I was getting things done but also have something to play with that would help with his development.
While I am no mama expert I have found somethings that have helped me to be able to be productive in my home but to also to have my littles be taken care of while I am getting things done. Whether I am holding my kids, dancing with them through the kitchen, or having them play on a developmental toy making sure both bases of getting things done and being a present mom are taken care of is important to me.
MY TOP 3 TIPS TO GETTING THINGS DONE WITH LITTLE ONES
|| 1 – FIND A TOY THAT IS DEVELOPMENTAL THEY CAN PLAY WITH ||
When I found out I was pregnant with Lettie I knew I was going to need something to let her play with. I needed something that King or I could play with her too. I started looking into different options of toys that would let me get things done while she had enough to do, but also weren’t too much to have in my home. I wanted her to have different options to play with while I folded laundry, something that would grow with her as she was able to sit up, you know, all the things. We found this floor gym from Tiny Love and I knew it was going to be perfect for our family. They can lay under the arches when they are little and then as they grow the arches can be moved so they can sit up and play or you can play with them under it with more room. I am obsessed with how the arches move. It has 18 different toys they can play with on it too and it stimulates their development & encourages their growth and development.
I love that I can have Lettie girl play on her Tiny Love Magical Tales™ Black & White Gymini while I am putting away laundry, doing the dishes, etc. and I can bounce back and forth from my mama tasks and playing with my sweet girl. King loves to sit by her with the arches pushed forward he is obsessed with pressing the hedgehog toy for it to play music for her. It is the perfect thing that looks pretty in my home with its black and white colors, helps with babies brain development with the black & white colors, and Lettie is obsessed with playing at it.
|| 2 – Have Dance Parties with Your Littles ||
Sometimes getting things done is hard because your littles feel like they no longer have your attention. I love to turn on music and dance while getting things done so that way they feel involved and can dance around wherever we are cleaning with me. It makes cleaning and getting things done a lot more fun and I love that it also teaches my littles that it is fun because we are dancing and playing while we fold laundry or do the dishes.
|| 3 – Set Timers ||
I love making games out of cleaning my house with myself and my littles. I always tell King we will set a 15 minute timer and then we will play for 15 minutes with him after I clean for 15 minutes. It teaches him patience to wait for me while I am cleaning and it also makes a game out of it for me to see how much I can get done in 15 minutes. It is crazy how quick you can work when you only have 15 minutes to get something done!
I think what it all comes down to is having a system in your home. My littles know that in the morning we set timers to get things done, while I make lunch Lettie plays on her gym mat, and then when it is dinner time & bedtime we dance party to get things done. No matter how you get things done in your home you are doing amazing mama!

Love the idea of setting timers. I had to do this when I had a little one as well. It works well.
