A Neighborhood Cereal Bar
Over the summer we had all our neighbors over for a backyard BBQ. We all had so much fun chatting and just being together. I decided that I wasn’t going to make a big deal of the party and to keep it super simple with decor and what we had to eat. It was one of the best nights we had in a long time. Zach had the fun idea for our next neighborhood get together to do a cold cereal bar! I knew I wanted to keep it super simple and just enjoy the people that were there instead of worrying about having some big party production that left me stressed out.
To begin, I left all my regular fall table decor up and then added mason jars with cereal in them. It was a simple way to let the cereal show its texture/color and for people to see the different cereals to choose from. It made for a super easy set up and gave us a simple way to put the cereal out that people brought to share.
If I did it all over again I would buy bigger jars to put the cereal in so we didn’t have to keep refilling them. Honestly I knew I needed pictures of this party so I made it a little bit more “pretty” than functional. I had paper/plastic bowls, plates, napkins and cutlery on a separate table before they walked over to the kitchen table.
The whole ideas with the party was to keep things simple. I knew I waned to enjoy the people at the party and not be stressed out about baking and everything before. And let’s be honest, a yummy treat is a must at every party! I didn’t want to be stressed out with either having homemade treats or having to load up my two littles to haul into the store. Recently I heard of Cherly’s Cookies and knew it was the perfect time to try them out.
They offer such a wide variety of treats that it was perfect for our little get together, and they were a hit! At the end we had a couple of treats leftover and I told Zach we should package them up and take them to a family who wasn’t able to attend and he told me there was no way that those treats were ever leaving our house! Now I know next time we were ordering them just for ourselves. I think it was safe to say that he really loved them along with everyone else.
Zach and I were so impressed (as well as my darling assistant that helped me with set up) that each cookie came individually wrapped. They were so fresh! They were so crazy soft and the flavor was seriously amazing. The s’mores cookie was by far my favorite and Zach was obsessed with the Brondie Brookie bars.
No matter if you have a little neighborhood get together coming up, need a hostess gift with the holidays, or are having a big holiday shindig at your house, let Cheryl’s Cookies do the hard work for you and you take the credit for looking like you are a freaking rockstar!
